Our Rabbi
Rabbi Shlomo Eisenberg hails from the frigid city of Rochester NY, but makes up for it with his warmth and excitement for Judaism and community building. Rabbi Eisenberg is excited to grow the Norfolk community through giving an array of captivating shiurim, inspirational drashos, popular learning and social programming, and expanded shul engagement throughout the community. He will provide caring leadership and pastoral guidance for our congregants and their families.
Rabbi Eisenberg attended Mechina and Beis Medrash at Yeshivas Ner Yisroel for an initial 8 years. After studying in the Mir Yeshiva in Yerushalayim, he returned to Baltimore for an additional 5 years of Kollel. After receiving his semicha from the yeshiva, Shlomo joined the St. Louis Community Kollel for 3 years, where he gained experience teaching Torah classes to the community and leading Jewish educational programs. Before moving to Norfolk, the Eisenbergs lived in Columbus, Ohio where Rabbi Eisenberg served as the Assistant Rabbi at Congregation Beth Jacob.
Liba née Wachs grew up in Northeast Philadelphia in a home of Jewish outreach and education. After studying at Mesores Rochel Seminary in Yerushalayim, Liba began her teaching career of middle and high school Judaics classes. She received her B.S in Behavioral Science from Mercy College and a Masters in Special Education from the University of North Dakota. Liba has been teaching for the past 11 years, as well as having been the school principal for 2 years. Liba currently teaches the fifth and sixth grade girls at Toras Chaim. Liba enjoys spending time with her family, hosting guests, and connecting with women in the community. The Eisenbergs are the proud parents of four children B”H. Liba offers engaging classes and programming for the women and families of the community.
